2016 Postmortem

I was having pizza last night and watching Fox News. I couldn't hear the audio because there was a baseball game on, but it was remarkable because they went on for about 15 minutes, trying to establish the connection between this guy who donated to the Clinton Foundation and the possibility (possibility!) that he violated the sanctions against Iran. I mean, if they get this deeply into it for such a tenuous connection, think how they'll go crazy if they come up with an actual campaign finance violation. From what I could gather, this guy donated to the foundation, not to the campaign. And it's not established he violated the sanctions; it's speculation at this point. I kind of half hope it happens, because I want to turn on my TV and see actual foaming at the mouth, heads exploding, werewolf howling, and whatever else they do. Problem is, there are bound to be visible erections, and perhaps even ejaculations, and I'm not ready for that. Here's a link, in case you want to watch it.

(2,097 posts)The vast majority of people on DU who are opposed to Hillary don't think there's no difference between her and a Republican.
The vast majority of people on DU who are opposed to Hillary DO think...
- That we need to solve the problems of wage inequality, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to re-regulate the banks, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to raise taxes on the wealth, on capital gains, and on corporations, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to build, strengthen, and spread labor unions, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to stop treating military action as our go-to foreign policy solution, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to cut the military budget, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
- That we need to expand Social Security, not hamstring it via Catfood Commission recommendations, and Hillary can't be trusted to lead on that;
etc.
No one doubts that she'll govern as a centrist Democrat, just like her husband -- and that's why the GOP is gunning for her. But centrists Democrats are a less-representative part of the party than ever before.
So there's your goddamned answer.

(11,417 posts)that has more detractors then Hillary does. I think most of us would have folded by now if we were treated the same way she is treated.
She is one strong woman, which is why some dislike here.

I mean, what's wrong with that?
It's not like there could be a conflict of interest or the appearance of one.
