2016 Postmortem

WANKER said this back in college that he never graduated from.

You read this, and you'll know why WANKER WILL BE THE GOP NOMINEE in 2016. And I Swear to gawd.....he'll be the next president. I feel it.... Oh it's over for the Dems, it's over BIG time. The repubs will OWN. Both houses of congress AND the White House.

(29,683 posts)I think the way is open for him to win though. Outside of Hilary, who do the Democrats have as a candidate? I so hope I'm wrong.....so hope we as progressives and Democrats have a really great candidate as in a Barack Obama clone, but with more balls. We hope he, or she, (outside of Hillary), is still ours to protect, to teach, to love, and to win.

and possibly others. I like some of them; others not so much. But it's a mistake to assume there's nobody but Hillary. Right now the polls suggest she could beat any GOPer, but that's at least partly a function of name recognition (which Scott Wanker has little of outside the Midwest). The point is, Hillary isn't the only credible Democrat, and it's basically nuts to assume Snotty Scotty has a snowball's chance in hell. His closet is full of skeletons, and besides, he looks stupid.

(115,780 posts)While I'm not much of a fan of Hillary, I know that name recognition and deep pockets are very valuable when running for a presidential nomination. There are others I like better but it would be foolish to count her out.

Our list (I'm for O'Malley myself) looks f'ing great with 11 credible candidates.
The GOP list is a f'ing joke with 2 dozen assorted grifters, ignoramuses, Bible-thumpers, and cretins.

No I didn't read the article. I don't need to in order to know that it's wishful thinking.

(32,044 posts)He was not to be taken seriously in 2010, the recall election and in 2012. I am old enough to remember when Democrats celebrated the nomination of Reagan in 1980. Carter was going to wipe out "a has been B actor". Funny how that worked out...

(46,436 posts)but he was helping his mother with the family business after his dad Rep. Nick Begich died in the mysterious plane crash with Hale Boggs. The R's here always made a big deal about his lack of a college education, but I think it was kind of noble of him to help out his mom, and it didn't seem to hurt his political career since he was Anchorage's youngest assembly member, a very successful two-term mayor, and a good senator who we'll probably regret losing.
Walker probably doesn't have as good an excuse.

(16,987 posts)Unless you've perfected time travel, you don't know what the state of affairs in fall 2016 is going to be. There are too many unknowns -- world events, as yet undeclared rivalries, the Gaffe-O-Meter, and a lot more -- for anyone to predict.

(12,712 posts)sequel to the movie, Idiocracy, I think that Scott Walker would be the perfect choice to play the new President. The movie would be picking up where the last one left off and the people would be starting to get a bit more educated and then, bang, Walker would be elected and take them all far beyond the stupidity they were once in. Hilarity ensues. I think it would be a hit.
Then, his wish could come true and we can get some real comedy, rather than the unintentional and embarrassing humor he is now providing. I am just wondering if he could do the part while listening to his Koch implant. He does not seem like much of a multitasker an the strain could be too much.
