The Republic
... Arizona's second-highest elected official went on radio and said it's "possible" the president's name could be left off the ballot if Hawaii doesn't respond.
Then, Bennett sent out a press release saying: "First, I have been on record since 2009 that I believe the president was born in Hawaii. I am not a birther."
Well, then. Why didn't Bennett just say that to the conspiracy-minded? If Bennett has simply denied requests from the birthers to enter their vortex, he could have spared us all this dance down Silly Street. That would have been an impressive display of leadership -- especially coming from such a high-level GOP office-holder.
Here's another option: Bennett could have followed Gov. Jan Brewer's lead. In April 2011, Brewer vetoed a birther bill with a letter saying it "creates significant new problems while failing to do anything constructive for Arizona." This year, a birther bill couldn't make it out of a Legislature known for its wacky ideas ...

Seems to me that this is the defining property of those who are already holding titles in higher offices.

(34,857 posts)I mean, we were supposed to believe Hillary Rosen was somehow in BED with the Obama White House, but this guy, who's actually working for the Romney campaign as one of his AZ local chairs, can get away with this shit without ONE reporter asking Romney about it?

(2,307 posts)Arizona will likely go to Romney anyway, but can they actually just give their electoral vote to Romney. If so what if every state which has Republican Administrations decided to not put Obama on the ballot? Yes before that happens Hawaii will produce what ever needed (for the ten thousandth time), but since they have done this multiple time to no avail is there any reason the states have to believe the state of Hawaii?
Is this potentially a new way to still elections. Also, wasn't it the USSR that had elections but with only one candidate?

(4,533 posts)which according to birther logic doesn't make him a natural born citizen. Birthers claim you need two parents as natural born citizens so Mitt is an anchor baby, I say we try keeping Mitt off the ballot.
