2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDemocrats are apparently caving to Wall Street and will help Boehner pass this 'Cromnibus.'
Shame on them and shame on the president for rolling over. It bodes ill for when the Republicans actually have control of both houses of Congress. It's painfully obvious Wall Street owns both parties.
I am thoroughly disgusted with our party and will donate not one dime to the party for 2016.

(26,184 posts)Steve Israel of New York, a member of the Democratic leadership. This bill is a one-two punch at middle-class voters. It weakens financial regulation on big banks and rewards Congress for doing so by increasing donation limits of big donors. This is exactly why middle-class voters have a contempt of Congress.

(666 posts)I just don't get it. The President and Jamie Diamond were calling House Dems urging them to vote for this bill.
And they caved.
Now it is in the hands of Elizabeth Warren and the Senate Dems. Oh, and I thought I would never say this, Rafael Edward Cruz
(AKA Ted Cruz) is supposedly against the bill too.

(8,718 posts)Given the level of crazy that is republiTEA, vetoing this bill would have been dangerous for the economy. Cruz's shutdown in 2013 cost the economy $24 billion in GDP.
