Nancy Pelosi attacks media bias against women

Nancy Pelosi appropriately lashed out at a rather tone deaf question from a reporter.

Yes Nancy Pelosi, there is a message there. It is the same message the media has given to President Obama. It is the same message they’ve given to State Senator Wendy Davis. It is the same message they give to Democrats as a class. Some need not apply.

The media as a tool is only as effective as we allow it to be. Continuous push-back and ultimately its disregard as most people use alternate sources will force its hand lest its demise.

1. She should hold up "Luke the Dook" Russert as a prime example of rudeness, crudeness and bias.

I'd say "Hold him up by his scrawny little neck" but that would be unkind.

for the irony impaired.

Unclear on the context? Here:

3. Indeed--I'm sure the Wally Coxes of this world would be affronted to be compared to that dork!

The NBC franchise needs to fire him. He doesn't belong on TV just because his father was involved in the Plame scandal and then suddenly ended up dead.

It's not like he's a starving artist. He should be cut loose and made to find real work, not patronage. Or he could live in mom's basement--she's a well known writer and I'm sure that Timmy left her with a decent portfolio--surely he didn't spend all that money he earned from those All Dad, Never a Word About Mum books, and the cash Jack Welch forked over to him in exchange for his soul.

...and was interested to see that question came from a female reporter, whose name is not turning up in the Internet searches just at the moment.

I'm glad that Pelosi opted to speak openly about the age question, and to push back against the reporter and indeed the media in general. News magazines put a white male conservative on their covers because that's just so gosh-darn new.

By the way, in all places where I see politics discussed (not just DU but Facebook and elsewhere), quite a few of the responses seem rote, automatic, and/or recycled, though I will observe that Connie Schultz on FB gets some really high-quality remarks.
