And this is exactly what the Republicans are doing.

When you have NO GOOD IDEAS, then you do whatever you can get away with to stop people from voting.

Disgusting and reprehensible.

They have really, really bad ideas that they don't want us to know (or at least think) about.

They will probably try to change the voting rights laws to make it more difficult to register for minorities and younger voters.

Legislation offering up a tax deduction or credit if you vote? With less than 50% turnout elections are pretty pathetic given that special interests are so influential...

I think Obama did a hell of a job when I think how things were 6yrs agao yet all these dem candidates in the midwest are distancing themselves from Obamna. Bradley, Iowa, Arkansas, Ohio etc think they have to pretend to be republican lite and saying we didn't vote with Obama aor support him much of the time. Hell they should be touting his record...repubs won't vote for them anyway and dems won't show up to vote for DINOS.
When Obama took office we were losing 700.000 jobs a month, falling into a republican made depression. losing the auto industry, healthcare run amuck. We've had positive job growth every yr since Obama took office. He cut the deficit by 2/3rds, saved the auto industry, got affordable healthcare and regulations to health ins,. got financial protecton agency and student loan out of the profiteers' hands.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE DEMS? STAND UP WITH OBAMA'S RECORD IF YOU WANT TO WIN OR YOU WILL LOSE TRYING TO ACT LIKE A REPUBLICAN LITE. FIRE YOUR ADVISERS.

And I hope you're right! Pomaika'i!

(My daughter went to school on the Big Island for 2 years. My keiki is now a wahine, and though she still looks like a haole, she still considers herself a kama'aina, and wears her honu tattoo proudly.)

Since the Big Island is exactly halfway around the world from us, it was a loooooong trip, but we made it as often as we could. The last time was for her graduation from HPA, which was quite a production. We even brought her grandmother, who had only been on an airplane once in her life before.

But she did catch up with him a short time later. She did her undergrad at GW in Washington DC, and interned with Emily's list, where she worked with him quite a lot while he was a Senator (first time I met him was at one of their gatherings in 2006).

But they alienate minorities and women. Rather than change to attract a wider audience, they try to keep those groups from voting.

It's truly sickening.

29. They reming me of Unamuno's speech to the Spanish Fascists in 1936
Sun Nov 2, 2014, 10:12 AM

It's always easier to use force and conquer than to use logic and convince.

Unamuno told the fascists: "Ustedes vencerán, porque poseen la fuerza bruta, pero no convencerán."

("You people will conquer because you possess brute force, but you will not convince.&quot

He was right, they did win the Spanish Civil War, albeit with the help of Hitler and Mussolini. But their victory and the subsequent Franco dictatorship is now seen as one of the darker periods of modern Spanish history--just as the Republican money-dominated period of American history will be seen once it is over.
