(946 posts)It seems like if more people knew about it and contrasted it to the progressive caucus plan, people could make a clearer choice....which would hopefully be bad for the Rs

(62,683 posts)I really don't think it would be helpful. The Dems need to get the message across outside of the chambers so people will pressure there representatives, I think.

I mostly talk about it in regards to Republicans but I believe that Congress should be able to be debating things more so that we the people can decide we want for this country. It's what they're supposed to do (I thought). Too much wheeling and dealing takes place behind closed doors while "gangs" come up with the final bills that get signed into law. I want to see the lawmaking process become more transparent.
Also, people should really know what exactly is in Ryan's "austere" budget (and that Romney supports it) IMHO.

(62,683 posts)"not marching in lockstep" criticism from fellow Repubs any more. But to be fair, she's usually done what she felt was right, and that is RARE in that party these days, to be sure.

The 2012 budget you refer to was not a budget at all. It was a continuing resolution.
