Why John McCain Should be Ignored: Cafferty and Zakaria Destroy Sarah Palin

He will forever own the Palin decision, and his opinions should hold no weight because of it.

John Roberts: "I talked to him (McCain) this morning ... and he still has full confidence in her (Palin) and her ability to be president should the need god forbid ever arise."

Jack Cafferty: "I'll bet that's not a true statement."

Jack Cafferty:

"There's a reason the McCain campaign keeps Governor Palin away from the press."

"If John McCain wins this woman will be one 72-year-old's heartbeat away from being President of the United States. And if that doesn't scare the hell out of you, it should."

I'm 65 and have been covering politics as you have [addressing Blitzer] for a long time, and that is one of the most pathetic pieces of tape I have ever seen for someone aspiring to one of the highest offices in this country. That's all I have to say.

Wolf Blizter (pretend journalist who defends Palin): "Yeah, but she's cramming a lot of information..."

Cafferty: "There's no excuse for that. She's supposed to know a little bit of this, you know. Don't make excuses for her - that's pathetic."

Wolf Blizter (continuing to be a Palin apologist]):"It was not her best answer. I agree with you on that."

Excerpt: The American financial system is in the greatest crisis it's been in since the 1930s. The economy is probably more stressed than at any point from various different areas, and this is complicated stuff. I think that there is a fundamental test of governance that is going to have to be applied, and is going to have to be applied to the House, and to the House Republicans in particular. But look, it applies all the more seriously to the people we are considering having as president and vice president. They have to be able to govern. You know, we can talk about the games and the gaffes, but what has become absolutely clear watching Sarah Palin, in her responses to interviews -- and the Katie Couric interview was the last straw -- frankly, there were others. Is that it's not that she when asked these complicated questions or difficult questions. It's not that she doesn't know the right answer. It's that she clearly does not understand the question. This is way beyond anything we have ever seen from a national candidate.
