What Do You Write In A DNC Delegate Letter

I am a Delegate to my states Democratic convention and this next weekend is the congressional caucus. At the caucus they will be voting on half of the delegates to the national convention in Charlotte and then at the state they will elect the remainder including the super delegates.

You have to campaign for the position so I was wondering if anyone on DU has had to do this before. I do not have time to call to campaign but I can create a letter and a mail merge on my PC and send a post card...

What do I put on this card, this is my first time.

1. Talk briefly about your involvement in local politics(Continues on post)

But don't spend the entire time lsting off or discussing in detail everything you've done. Talk about passionate reasons for supporting the President, and remember that it's campaigning- maybe talk about some issues you think your fellow state delegates might find important to them, attack Mitt Romney or Republican/Conservative policies in some fashion, have a photo of yourself in it, and an e-mail or phone number members can reach you buy(and maybe include something like, "If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me,&quot .

Then practice your speech, basically following the same format. One big tip I can give you is this- people don't want to hear you talk about every little thing you've done for the county or national party or X candidate, you really need to set yourself out, get their attention, light a fire in their belly, speak organically but not in a manner that makes it look like you don't know or haven't prepared your speech, but do mention your party involvement briefly at some point(I've been a part of this process and it irritates the piss out of me when people get elected to be delegates who have done NOTHING, NO footwork for the local, state, or national party- No, this is not a position that should go to someone only excited about a specific candidate, bugs the heck out of me).
