2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRand Pauls rants on Bill Clinton.
Rand Paul seems to have a problem with Bill Clinton. He feels that BIll shouldn't raise money for womens issues because he is a sexual predator. It brings to my mind a news flash from his past showing how he and his followers treat women.

(30,251 posts)The more he trashes Bill, the less presidential Rand looks. The American public dealt judgment on this issue when Bill left the WH with the highest approval rating of any president in years, higher even than Reagan's. If Rand thinks that attacking Bill is a way to raise questions about Hillary's viability in 2016, then Democrats should stand back and watch him dig his own grave. He will end up as the butt of many jokes. Aside from the fact that sane people realize that married couples are separate individuals and wives are not responsible for their husband's actions. This is an asinine strategy.

(37,326 posts)2. Bill Clinton wasn't a "predator." Monica (and the others) were grown women who were more-than-willing participants. 3. The media did NOT give Clinton a pass. 4. This is such old news, many of Rand Paul's supporters were too young to even remember what happened in the 90s. Get over it.

(20,214 posts)She told a friend "I'm going to the Whitehouse to get my presidential kneepads." Was Bill stupid? Very. But was Monica a victim? HELL NO!

(429 posts)Then he was asked about it in some Sunday show and went on some odd rant about the War on Women. If this is how he deals with softball questions, he's not ready to be a "primetime" candidate.
It is definitely possible that he's being encouraged by his GOP pals to keep up the assault on Bill. Doesn't seem like smart politics at all, but maybe it works in Kentucky.

(429 posts)Cause he's sure digging himself a hole to defend her comments. I thought he was a better politician than that. Also thought that about Christie, that he wouldn't be so blatantly corrupt. Looks like we're in for a real clown race come 2016.
