RNC Spokesman: 'What Exactly Has The President Done For The Black Community?'

TOM KLUDT – DECEMBER 4, 2013, 12:39 PM EST

In an effort to tamp down the controversy surrounding a recent tweet, the Republican National Committee deployed its resident black media spokesman for an interview Wednesday on MSNBC.

Orlando Watson, who was hired in October to serve as the RNC's "Communications Director for Black Media," said during his appearance on the cable news channel that a tweet sent out by the organization last weekend praising civil rights icon Rosa Parks for "ending racism" was nothing more than a typo.

"And talking about a typo and a tweet, it's old news," Watson said.

When MSNBC host Thomas Roberts asked if it was "defensible" for GOP governors to reject the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion, Watson took aim at President Barack Obama's own record of helping the black community.

He couldn't even handle a softball interview with Thomas Roberts and was unable to offer up any cogent response. The best part was when Roberts asked him about why didn’t the House pass the Jobs Act, and this dufus got so flustered that he blurted out, "You can ask the House Republicans!"

Yeah, he's gonna be a real asset for the GOP.

and they don't even see how THAT is a problem?
They hired a black guy to handle communications about black issues?
like they can't even think outside of white only ideas?
I gotta catch Jon Stewart tonight, he is going to love this.

No wonder they're so out of touch with well...just about everyone.

Let's see, blacks, Latinos, women, and hell...even Catholics now. Sounds like the transformation is officially complete. The GOP is THE Dixiecrat party - the home of a more sophisticated KKK. This quote by Lee Atwater (Bush Sr's campaign strategist behind the infamous Willie Horton ad and Karl Rove's mentor) really reveals the modern GOP:

"You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can’t say “nigger”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.”"

And a dumb one at that. His comments about the President will not help the Republicans pick up votes in the Black community.
