(3,491 posts)Herring will be declared the winner by 163 votes. As I understand it, a recount in Virginia shouldn't change this by very much, possibly up to 50 votes either way.

(13,570 posts)Plus, I can't believe people would vote for Terry then vote for the TeaPuke for AG. WTF??

(3,491 posts)just voting for governor, or gov/lt. governor and either forgetting about the rest of the ballot or not wanting to vote for either.

(2,301 posts)Mark Herring actually got more votes than Terry McAulliffe. The down-ballot issue has been a problem in previous years though... we probably wouldn't have had Bob McDonnell as governor if Creigh Deeds won the AG race back in 2005. Another ridiculously close race: http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/ElectionResults/2005/nov2005/html/

(2,301 posts)I'll never understand bothering to show up to the polls, and then not voting in some of the races. I mean, if I really hated all the candidates, I'd at least write someone in at that point...

However, the polls before the election always indicated the AG race was very close.
