Adventures in Translation (Translation - What Is He Thinking?)

Boehner: "The president said today if there's unconditional surrender by Republicans, he'll sit down and talk to us"

Translation: "The president said today that if the Republicans bend over and accept the ass-fucking we have coming, he'll sit down and talk to us."

I swear to god, I don't understand the statements that Boehner has been making lately. People say he's a drinker, and on some level I have to wonder if that's not the cause. I mean, first he says that there aren't enough votes to pass a clean continuing resolution, which leads to the obvious rejoinder, "OK, prove it by scheduling a vote" which Boehner clearly doesn't want to do.

Now he's saying that for the Republicans to do precisely what, eventually, they'll be forced to do is nothing short of "unconditional surrender." Because you know that his rivals to be the next Speaker of the House aren't going to use that line against him in basically the same way that Miguel Cabrera wields a Louisville Slugger.

John, now you're just pathetic and sad....

Maybe there should be drug tests (alcohol is a drug) for elected officials. If I could serve my country (skeletons) I'd gladly give up my drug vices.
