I Think Most Republicans Are Embarrassed

I have been venturing to some of the areas where republicans are likely to leave their oh so insightful comments at the bottom of news stories and many seem strangely light on conservatives opinions. There is the story about the douche bag republican congressman that was yelling at the park ranger over at politico and in the comments, you have literally one republican arguing with probably 30 liberals. It seems no one wants to jump in and help the lone nut job out. Same with articles about the WWII memorial yesterday, news that Boner could get through a clean bill if he wanted to, the back and forth among politicians about who is at fault for the shut down.

I've checked places like politico, CNN, huffington post, yahoo news, really anywhere that conservatives congregate like roaches and they seem to all be missing. Sure, you have a few republicans here and there that seem to be quite literally out of their minds, but there aren't very many. I get the feeling most republicans out there know that the GOP fucked up big this time around.

And shortly, they will have rationalized and displaced their transgressions. Maybe there's one instant of that "gotcha!" moment where they are nonplussed, but it soon gives in to equivocation and weaseling.

Even if they suddenly come out of the woodwork and claim this is all terrible and all obama's fault (and yet somehow the best thing that has happened to this country and they are to thank ), only other hardcore nut jobs will actually pay attention. The "teaparty" is a fringe group these days with little influence.

... has "little influence." The cognitive dissonance does not dissuade them. Where have you been?

Wouldn't you be more right to say they have an inordinate influence based on their number and intellect?

and the US House Speaker is leading them towards the first US credit default. That doesn't sound like a "fringe group", it sounds like power to me.

It is all Obamas fault, and Nancy Pelosi sucks ...

Pretty much the sum total of it, but they aren't embarrassed, it just is all "Obama's fault."

They're all fiscal, turbo capitalist types who have no need or interest for the social jihad the Republican party is waging. They think this is all foolish garbage and they know the voters are gonna kick the party in the teeth. This makes them very sad, because they're convinced Democrats are pro-business stupid and will heap more regulations on them out of spite. They could care less about the party's anti-choice, anti-woman, 'no, no, no' stance.
