That raggedy old rightwinger Ben Stein was just on Craig Ferguson's show...

and said he was a Republican all his life "which is a lot longer than most of these Congresmen"

And that there is definitely a form of insanity there now which is not good for the party and not good for the country.

The old guard is bringing out its bigger guns-- they seem really pissed at these assholes. If they can get their act together, it just might be the end of teabaggery.

I don't like conservatives much, but the honest ones we can deal with.

That said,

The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend.

Ergo,

...at this moment in time, I'll tolerate him.

I was pleasantly surprised. He said something like "if Obamacare is so bad, why are millions of people signing up for it?"
He did go on to say Nixon had a proposal similar to Obamacare when he(Stein) worked for him, but overall he came out strongly against the shutdown, and placed the blame securely on Republicans.

It made me realize just how far down the crazy road the country has been dragged by the Repukes these last few yrs. When I think of Ben Stein as a breath of fresh air, it horrifies me. He is a man of common sense, which is much lacking in the present crowd. They are indeed eating their own.

is one of the few Republicans who I respect nowadays, along with Michael Steele and Steve Schmidt. Though I don't agree with them on much, they at least don't seem afraid to call out their own party on their extremity and hate-mongering.

He owns it. Typical selfish republican takes cover as soon as things go awry. You are a bad person Ben Stein.
