Send a message to your House Representative

I just sent this one to my Rep. David Price (D) NC

Something has to be done to overcome the bullying, cry baby tactics of the Republican Party. The system has become utterly broken when a small number of Representatives are able to thwart the will of the majority of citizens expressed through established elections.

Cannot something be done to encourage the moderate Republicans to foment an uprising and replace the current Speaker? Do they not realize the harm that is being to done to real people's lives with this shutdown?

I encourage you to take any and all measures necessary to wake up your Republican colleagues and encourage them to do the job they were elected to do and stop acting like a bunch of whiny toddlers.

Mine was not so eloquent. I may have to steal your "bullying, cry baby tactics of the Republican Party."

I contact my two Senators and my Representative each time one of these hostage events occur but they are all three Republican and are proud of what they are doing.

Each have their on form letters, but so far one Senator usually has someone to create a form letter which attempts to explain why they do what they do the other is very polite but simply states they are following the wishes of the majority of the state. The Representative's form letter is usually a nice way of saying screw you. Basically, the Senators realize they must be elected by the whole state but the Representative is in a district which is drawn to give an 80% Republican majority and knows Hell will freeze over before I will vote for him, in fact if I remember he hasn't had a Democratic challenger for a few years.

Mine is one of them (Meehan R-PA). Sent emails yesterday and the day before. Got a quick email note in which he says he wants a vote on the Senate bill in the House. There are others but I'm almost sure if the house does have a vote we will get a new Speaker (and I'm not sure I like that).
