A single-payer system, like Medicare, is the cure for America's ailing healthcare

"I start my approach to healthcare from two very basic premises. First, healthcare must be recognized as a right, not a privilege. Every man, woman and child in our country should be able to access the healthcare they need regardless of their income. Second, we must create a national healthcare system that provides quality healthcare for all in the most cost-effective way possible."

We can easily afford it; all a matter of priorities.

government program. I was dreading government red tape when I signed up and there was none. It was very easy and the people handling my application were extremely helpful. I have never had a problem with it. So, we have the prototype. Also, the people signing up for Medicare are older, not as computer literate as young people. If it works for folks 65 and older, it should be easy for younger folks.

It works in Europe and elsewhere and no reason to think it won't work here.

Look at what South Korea is doing. There is plenty of stuff on the internet about it. We have a very good system here.

they won't reject single payer later on.

I was a purist about universal health care, too. Now I realize more effort should have been put by us liberals and progressives toward getting the public used to the idea through actual experience, rather than all those lies the repukes have been telling them. They don't know what they're mssing until they get it and the ACA is the way.

I am certain that eventually we will have universal, single payer health care in this country.
