So the GOP has shut the government down...

Many are going to be hurt by it; it's costing the tax payers millions of dollars every day it's shut down; people are angry; and the media is now correcting the "both sides are to blame" misperception by pointing out that it is only one side, "an increasingly radicalized Republican Party."

Does the GOP honestly think there won't be consequences? A price to pay for their arrogance? Even with all their gerrymandering and voter suppression laws, this latest miscalculation could blow up in their faces at the ballot box next year. It could very well cost them the house just like it did when they pulled this crap with President Clinton. Regardless of party, citizens do expect their government to be open.

I don't think the point was to close the government.

It was to get the Democrats to back down as usual.

Now the Republicans have to figure a way out.

I wonder if there will be some back deals going on.
