Booker and Lonegan no shows at NJ Senate Forum

For those outside of NJ - we have a Senate Special Election in October - with a Primary next month. Booker (Mayor of Newark) is considered as the obvious winner to replace Lautenberg (passed away).

I can't seem to grab any text from Asbury Park Press on my iPad - but it notes that The audience was mostly "older voters". So you had a likely group of voters who didn't get to hear the likely Democratic Candidate and likely Republican Candidate.

They did get to hear the three remaining Democratic and note - TEA Party candidate Alieta Eck.

I've been pretty open about my support for Pallone in the primary. So I have a bit of an "I told you so" attitude about Booker. I don't know why he missed the opportunity to speak to older voters who could be swayed by his forward campaign approach.

Instead - they heard from Pallone who is brave enough to air commercials during Morning Joe (just saw one) running on:

I voted and co-Authored Obama Care

And

I stood up against the TEA Party to protect Social Security

I just can't believe Booker gets to "win" when we have a candidate telling people who he really is in Christie's New Jersey. And three Democratic candidates willing to show up and speak to an Older and Actually Vote In Every Election Audience.

Perhaps Booker is secure in the fact that he seems to already be anointed. djean111 Jul 2013 #1

Or he is keeping his options open for other opportunities.
But yeah, does seem strange he would miss a chance to impress any group of voters.
