Related: About this forumI want a say in what CONGRESS does
Since the public has a very dim view of Congress it is time for Congress to step back and think about who they are representing. We the people hardly ever get a say on any of the bills that are dealt with by Congress. We are certainly not getting any say on the cuts to vital services. Do we get any say in changes to medicare, medicaid and social secuity? In some states it is difficult to vote some of these hounds out. We only seem to get a chance to take part in a referendum at a local or state level.

(1,151 posts)unfortunately most of us say "we're happy with the lesser of 2 evils" or "i'm to lazy to learn about the issues so I'm voting incumbent then straight D/R". Until that stops nothing will change. The parties are in control and will keep control until "we" take it back which I don't see happening until we really hit the bottom.

(72,790 posts)it has ruined America. I vote for the best candidate, even if they're neither a D or R on the ballot box. If the DEMs aren't much better than the Repubs, then why should I vote for them?
