(53,410 posts)1. I cried during the entire press conference
I've been very depressed since the Zimmerman verdict and today my President made me cry about it. This country is so wounded. I'm proud of him too.

(2,484 posts)2. Powerful and honest words. So rare from a politician.
He made it fairly clear he isn't going to push federal charges, which is understandable.
Great moment brought to you by our President.

(2,012 posts)6. Thank you, President Obama
It was beautiful, I mean the speech of course, but also FOXNews trying oh so hard to get ANY of their pundits to say Obama should not have inserted himself into the trial issue and it was all about race and he was stoking racial fires, and on and on. Chris Wallace said "No, I think he said exactly the right thing and I don't see how anyone can say he was trying to stoke racial fires." Further, they interviewed George Zimmerman's brother; I'm sure they were certain he'd take off on Obama and tried every which way to get him to say how badly Obama has handled the situation but instead said "I'm glad he spoke out today and what we need to do is mentor young men of all races." Poor FOX.
