The Sarah Slamen video

Although most DU'ers are probably already familiar with this issue, the video that is the subject of this post can be viewed at this link:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/10/sarah-slamen-texas_n_3573431.html

I have called Senator Jane Nelson's office at the Capitol to express my utter disgust at the way Ms. Slamen was treated. In case anyone else wishes to do the same thing, the phone number to Senator Nelson's office is:

(512) 463-0112

I certainly realize that the Texas abortion bill is assuredly going to pass and become law. I also realize that it will be immediately challenged in court.

But just because the Texas Republicans are arrogantly confident that this is a foregone conclusion, I am not waiving MY own right to free speech, and I exercised that right by contacting Nelson's office. I hope some of you will do the same.

They did not ask that I identify myself as being from Texas, and they did not ask for any specific information. I thank you in advance.

Sarah Slamen rocks. Hope to see a lot more of her in the coming years.

5. When she started ripping into that ophthalmologist legislator, I couldn't wait to hear more.

But everyone on the panel shit their pants and cut her off before she could go down the line with all of them. I wish she'd post a YouTube video finishing her take-down of each legislator.

7. Yes, I saw her on Lawrence O'Donnell last night. She is amazing.

Cleans up well too. LOL. I can't imagine getting up at 5 am and setting through that shit all day. How she still had the energy to say what she said at 11 pm to those legislators is beyond me. Unfortunately, she did not finish her takedown of the rest of the legislators on O'Donnell. But she did say what she was going to say in general, particularly the point that the clinics that will close are not in those legislators' districts whereas all that will stay open are (cowards!) and will basically affect poor single mothers. Her statement that women are sick of asking for rights that should already be their's was awesome. I love her passion.
