2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumForbes Contributor Links Back to DU in Commentary about Obama, Nixon & "Asterisk President"
I found this while trying to find how many days Nixon was President, after finding he had made (and was trying to protect from public disclosure) 880 audio tapes when he left office. 880? Is that one per day? Anyone?Anyway, I found this piece of total RW garbage at the Forbes website by some RW asshole named Paul Roderick Gregory (you can read who he claims to be next to the article at the link below)
Fair Warning: Keep you puke bags close at hand and lock up any firearms you may have laying around before reading this, because it will most likely infuriate you, not only because of the stupid crap he wrote, but due to the fact that this douche-bag probably got paid a good deal of money to write this crap.
The link back to DU to a discussion we had here on 9 Jan 2009 is in the 2nd paragraph, I find it sort of amazing that it took all those "RW intellectuals" over 8 years to notice us referring to GWBush as *president, but then even the most educated RWers are not even 1/2 as smart as they think they are.
I'm only going to add this link once and only include the first 2 paragraphs of this RW swill, so not to give this guy any more attention than he deserves.

Will Obama Follow Richard Nixon As An Asterisk President?
The notorious asterisk (*) is applied to discredited sports records. Lance Armstrongs seven Tour de France victories have been followed by an * in the record books since his admission of doping. Richard Nixon is modern historys only asterisk President. His * denotes the only President to resign from office. More generally, the asterisk applies to any achievement gained through questionable means.
Hence, the media elite will discredit any piece that has Barack Obama Asterisk President in its title as spiteful partisanship, sour grapes, and ignorance of politics as usual. Obamas spin doctors and the media will retort: Do these conservative wing nuts not know that Obama won by a comfortable margin? Our democratic underground has indeed put an asterisk next to George W, Bush, but that is only right. Bush did not really win in 2008 and lied about weapons of mass destruction, but our Barack won fair and square and by a comfortable margin.
Columnists James Taranto and Peggy Noonan have broken the asterisk taboo. Taranto (President Asterisk) describes how the mainstream media has circled the wagons to protect Obama from the swirling scandals...
Bla, bla, bla,...IRS...bla, bla, bla...Benghazi...bla, bla, bla... you all know the rest of the RW talking points, so I won't post them here, but feel free to read them at the link if you need an excuse to get mad and go start a bar fight, but it's really just garbage.
Anyway, thought some of you might have a few things to say about this,
Enjoy.
P.S. Someone should really point out to this "Professor" that GWBush did not run for President in 2008 (see underline in paragraph two)

(17,797 posts)I forgot to point that out, so I fixed that in an edit.
So typical, this guy probably never shows his stuff to a lowly "editor" at Forbes.

(1,581 posts)The Reich-Wing will try to get SCOTUS to declare the 2008 & 2012 Presidential Elections null and void because of "voter fraud" or some other reason, that Barack Obama's name would be removed from the official list of US Presidents and that all the bills he signed into law are also "null and void". That's just the sort of despicable act that the Tea Party is capable of.

(17,797 posts)I tried to read this all the way through, last night, but it's total gibberish. And never really concluded the commentary in the last paragraph, it just sort of ends.
