Benghazi Backfires on Republicans as Democrats Eviscerate Issa and the GOP

Benghazi Backfires on Republicans as Democrats Eviscerate Issa and the GOP

The GOP’s Benghazi house of cards has collapsed, and now Democrats are eviscerating Darrell Issa and his fellow Republicans for overreaching and politicizing a tragedy.

Rep. Elijah E. Cummings the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform blasted Rep. Darrell Issa for going back on his word to hold a public hearing with the Accountability Review Board that examined the security situation in Benghazi.

Cummings said, ... -snip-

As the ranking member on the committee, Rep. Cummings is leading the Democratic pushback against Rep. Issa, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and other Republicans who have politicized Benghazi. There is no cover-up, but Republicans keep moving the goalposts in their never ending quest to find the scandal that never was.

A backlash is growing against these relentless Republican attempts to drum up an Obama scandal. While Darrell Issa chases conspiracy theories while the walls are crumbling around the Republican Party. Republicans have politicized a tragedy to the point where it has become an insult to the victims, and for that there will be a price to pay.

I am SO grateful that I missed out on that. I've seen some truly awful guests on Maher's show, but the car-thief would've ruined my weekend.

It doesn't mean he thinks they deserve it, but it IS after all a voluntary appearance on their part, and they won't come on shows like that to have their heads handed to them if they get treated like shit. "Kill 'em with kindness" and they'll keep coming back, and they'll keep getting their heads handed to them. I'm sure half of them don't even realize it until their own PR people tell them afterward.

Maher had Frank Luntz on once, and Luntz is VERY media savvy. It's how he made himself a multi-gazillionaire, after all. Luntz made some statement about something, and Maher replied, deadpan, "yes, but you're evil." The audience roared, and even Luntz had to grin because he knew he'd been nailed with a line he had no answer for.

Yell and interrupt these people like the Fox clowns, and they won't come back. Both Stewart and Maher are done before a live audience. The hosts are very clever to bestow decorum upon, and show civility to their right wing guests. They smile, keep their voices even, and let the audience shred their right-wing visitors after clever comebacks (like "yes, but you're evil&quot . It seems to work every time. Curiously, the one show the radical right seems to truly fear is Rachel Maddow, where there is no live audience to remind them when they've been verbally eviscerated. Probably the fact that she has the highest IQ, the quickest wit, and more facts in her head than anybody, intimidates them more than Stewart and Maher combined.

it will also mean that every other potential scandal Republicans bring up in the next 3 years will be tainted to everybody - "is this a real scandal, or did Republicans make shit up again?"

the theme for the Sunday talk shows is already set in stone ...

WHITE HOUSE UNDER SIEGE.

Can this President get anything done amidst a relentless onslaught of scandals!

Not a chance, NONE, that with the "liberal" media in a blood rush takes a step back to report on the actual story of republican's being jackasses, not caring one fricken iota about the country while engaging in a relentless, never ending campaign of bullshit to try to destroy the sitting POTUS.

swarming with flies and crawling with maggots.

I swear, every mainstream media source has put the White House in an out-of-control nosedive. I had to climb out of bed and shut NPR off this morning because they were orgasming about all the "scandals that are rocking the Obama White House!"
