(11,464 posts)anyone in office in 2016, needs to stay in that office.

(18,644 posts)You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

(54,448 posts)We never got to experience the Gore administration. I would still like to.
Sans Lieberman, it goes without saying. Gore/Schweitzer, maybe.

(22,000 posts)But he has been out of politics so long there is no way he'd get back in.

(16,646 posts)He's about the best candidate I can see. Too bad he won't run.
DFW
(54,448 posts)He's a personal friend, and I'm not speculating. It would take a total meltdown of all other viable candidates for him to even consider it. He'll be 65 this year, and he is looking to take it easier, not have total stress for four years, let alone eight (as I think he'd be handily re-elected if he took office). He is still as energetic as he could be, but I think Judy would go ballistic.

(22,000 posts)Until there are actual a declared candidates, I won't decide who I will vote for.

(19,288 posts)If I don't pick our gal Hillary? I'm not sure I'm feeling it? What is the matter with me? I really love her as a person and have respect for her as a politician, and if she runs I think she will win....but... but...but... I need help.
I like a Grayson/Warren, ticket, if I could dream. (stuffs a Nation, magazine, down the back of pants)

(22,000 posts)She did a great job as SoS and if she were the nominee I'd vote for her. As for the primary I'm content with waiting another two years until some of the campaigns kick off in the Spring of 2015 and see who actually runs. People might be a bit surprised at who is in and who is out by that time. No matter who decides to run, I believe we should encourage a wide range of candidates.

(12,296 posts)Edited to add: I know it will never happen, though.
Hell Hath No Fury
(16,327 posts)and from that list, Elizabeth Warren by a landslide.
question everything
(47,544 posts)In 2004, Lieberman was the front runner. In 2008 it was Hillary, and she almost won.
But if there is something we learned from Obama - and I voted for him - is that executive experience counts. That knowing how a legislative body works, and knowing the movers and shakers, counts.
Which means, in my opinion, that none of the senators on this list will be a valid candidate. You may not like my comments but, believe me, this will be mentioned against any senator.
I love both Biden and Hillary - supported them until they dropped in 2008.
But we have established the image of a party that talks to the young. And in 2016 Biden will be 74, Hillary will be 69. I just think that we will have to show a younger face.
Which leaves, from this list Cuomo and O'Malley.

(63,914 posts)of being governed by men at the top of the ticket. Let's give women a crack at it. All over the world women are leading in their nations and we look like idiots.
Let's do it and elect a woman president in 2016!
