Did Barbara Bush dis the First Lady?

Was it my imagination, or did Barbara Bush purposely choose NOT to clap when, at the Bush Library opening, they announced her name and Barbara just sat there with her hands in her lap. Really not sure if I saw that but Michelle looked a bit pissed right after.

It is, I believe, what most of us live for.

and although there has always been a bit of give and take among folks passionate about their views, I do not remember it being as bad as it has become over the past few years. It seems that no matter how innocuous a comment, or post, one might make, there is always at least one individual, and oftentimes way more than one, who seems to enjoy attacking the poster as if he or she has committed some heinous crime.

I have had people take a single word out of posts I made, and then go on a personal diatribe in an attempt to twist the entire post into something that I neither said nor meant.

Take heart, though. By far most people on this site are easy to get along with, and should they disagree with something you might post, they at least do so with a level of diplomacy that will not make you feel as if you are under assault.

Others, however, seem incapable of debate that does not sound like a very personal attack against those with whom they disagree.

by people who go out of their way to click on a link and add a comment or two or three simply to insult the OP and offer nothing of substance to the conversation.

Your comments have been cruel and unnecessary and seem designed only to demonstrate your superiority to the OP.

If you have better things to do, then, by all means, go do them.

With the Bushes, anything is possible. Barbara was First Lady once. May not like having a black successor. Maybe it bothers her beautiful mind. We do know her attitude towards Katrina survivors.

as the 1960s counter culture song said
"And nothing can stop the shape of things to come&quot c)Mann & Weill.

Hillary was commanding speaking, and had Barbara thinking, that Hillary is going to kick Jeb Bush's ass come 2016.

That is the important take I took from the speeches.

To continue President Obama's agenda is all that is important.
And showing the Bush's as losers forever, is what is important.

Michelle Obama and Barack Obama keeep ropin' the dopes.

And didn't Hillary look like a President.

Because the one thing that was missing from that picture of Presidents was a woman.
And Hillary45 is going to change that starting in Jan. 2017.

And Michelle46 will continue that in Jan. 2025.

That is what is important

then she matched petty for petty.

If not, if BB didn't not clap in order to snub, then MO matched non-petty with petty.

Unless MO was just POed about something else. Or you misinterpreted her expression.

Best case: My petty First Lady is better than their petty ex-First Lady.

Worst case: Uh ... What?

Sat Apr 27, 2013, 02:48 PM
Apr 2013

It was, I think, in the period between W's election and his inauguration. A WH dinner, with the Bushes at the head table too. Bill Clinton rose to go to speak, and walked behind those seated at the head table to get to the mic. As he passed the honored guests, each one of them turned to him graciously. Except Barbara Bush. She deliberately turned her back to him.

Many people noticed her rude slight of President Clinton.

Hillary invited her several times to the WH for various events and she refused to go. The only time that she showed up was when all the living first ladies came together at the WH to celebrate its renovation.

She's warmed up to the Clintons, particularly Bill, since he and George Sr. worked together at Jr.'s behest after Katrina. She is reputed to be very tough and to instill fear in all the daughter in laws.

The Carters were seated next to the Clintons. Jimmy got up to speak, just as Bill, Obama and Sr. did. When Obama inaugurates his library in a few years, every ex president who hasn't kicked the bucket will be there too. It's tradition.

and the fondly remembering President George was making me gag. It made me sick to see that just because some years have passed since he and his cronies raped and pillaged this country, that we are starting to get into that "fondly remembering" George and cute little anecdotes about his faux presidency. WE CANNOT LET PEOPLE FORGET. I know most of us here won't, but I think that every time there's a "remember when" piece that attempts to paint that non-elected president as some kind of compassionate leader, we need to come right back with the facts and our own "remember when" we all got fugged.

okay, I feel better now...
