Obama Raises More Than $53 Million in March; Republicans Pounce
Video @ link~
By Abby Livingston Posted at 10:05 a.m. today

The Obama campaign announced today in a Web video that its collective March fundraising total was “over $53 million.”

The video featured various campaign supporters announcing their small donations to the campaign, followed by a message from campaign manager Jim Messina. The figures include fundraising from the Democratic National Committee.

While the report showed robust fundraising, the Republican National Committee put out a press release trying to turn the strength into a weakness.

“Giving lobbyists and special interests special access to the White House, it’s no surprise Obama is still the fundraiser-in-chief,” RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said in a statement. “Big money contributions will not take away from the fact that President Obama cannot run on his record and is simply offering shiny objects to distract from his failure to bring hope and change to Americans as he promised.”

She was referencing a Sunday New York Times article reporting that lobbyists have accompanied big donors on White House visits. The RNC also offered in its press release seemingly contradictory 2008 campaign rhetoric promising that lobbyists would not have special access to an Obama White House.

made by your average Jane and John Citizen - especially the Janes.

As usual, this will fly. The vast majority of Republican voters have zero critical thinking skills, and since (R)s + education = vampires + garlic, I'm not holding my breath. It's going to get worse (or funnier, depending on your POV), before it gets better (or any sane person can take it seriously).

Any group that would so consistently vote against its own interests so fervently, for so long, is beyond hope. Best case scenario: the New Republics split and run a third-party candidate. I nominate Nalph Rader.

By August, this is going to have morphed from the current clown car to a full-blown three ring circus. RimJob has been auditioning for the ringmasters job for weeks now, but he's got plenty of competition.

President Obama is raising money for his re-election campaign? Why, that's the first time a sitting POTUS has EVER raised money for a re-election campaign. Why, he should be ashamed of himself!!!!

The GOP is shitting their pants because they have finally realized too late that Mitt Romney is their candidate an nobody wants to vote for him, including significant portions of the GOP.
