Got an example for me? 'Cause my knowledge of history has America embroiled in fighting or wanting-to-fight since 1776.

I read it like the Roman Empire; built and fueled on military might, and unable to comprehend an alternative. When the military gives way - and they always do, eventually - the empire goes down with it.

My point is that we are overspending on war to the point that our citizens and soldiers are suffering.

Your own example of the Roman Empire is a great example of why we should look at an alternative.

We're spending on war while shortchanging our vets. That says it right there.

It's all about priorities.
