Further publicity for this story out there will only hurt him.

(11,304 posts)make racial slurs. But he is right. Just go after him and leave the spouse out of it. Although I don't think she is a great as secretary of labor when she had the job. She did nothing for the working people.

(13,992 posts)Given the intelligence and information level of his base, most are probably unaware that his wife didn't come to this country on the Mayflower. Knowledge of his wife's ethnicity will probably cost him some votes from among his knuckle-dragging constituents.

(1,415 posts)I'm waiting for him to say "Ooh, I banga Asian rady rong time! I canna be rashisht!"
...which I realize that was kind of racist against stupid white people who are racist, actually...
That said, the tweet was pretty damn racist... it's the same kind of dipshit-iness (in level of wrongness, not intensity, obviously) as the Nazi jackass shooting up a Sikh temple because he thought they were Muslims (Eh, who cares? They ALL got towels on their heads!).
Remember: Two wrongs don't make a right. We have to be BETTER than him, otherwise we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Euphoria
(448 posts)of McConnell all of a sudden feeling the 'negatives' of racism when he has a long, long record in his statements, actions, profession and votes not having given a damn about the racism he has so long benefited from.
He's just now facing potential viable opposition for his throne and is starting to spread around the bs and confuse things in order to deflect attention on what he's done as a senator and what he hasn't done for the people of KY.
