2013 MA US Senate Election (Markey-D vs Sullivan-R)

Markey-D defeats Lynch-D in the Democratic Primary. Sulivan-R wins the Republican primary. Markey-D wins the General Election by a 53-45 percent margin similar to the Warren-D vs Brown-R race.

position, and when Warren was running against Brown- she did not occupy any high profile office that prevented her from campaigning hard.

If the general election becomes closer than expected, would Markey be better of resigning his US House to focus his attention on getting elected to the US Senate.
