http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/02/05/eight-senators-who-support-wife-beating-rape-and-other-heinous-crimes/Just got home, where I have a proper PC and can more easily cut and paste. Here's more of the post:
"You want to know why high-school kids from Ohio to Minnesota think its OK to gang-rape girls? Ask these eight Senators who lead by example. By refusing to support legislation that would protect women from violent crime, they endorse the committing of violent crime against women.
Oh nonono, not at all, these misogynistic louts cry; there are other matters to consider, its not that we hate women. All together now, readers: BulllllllS********t.
Voting against legislation to help crime victims is voting against crime victims. And that means voting FOR criminals.
And that is how these eight men voted. Their mothers must be so proud."
Again, my apologies, and my thanks for the information.

(40,416 posts)Click throughs cost us limited monthly bandwidth DUers. Lucky it's the beginning of the month, so I'll bail you out here in the interest of other iPhone only DUers. But in the future we would all much appreciate that when you post an intriguing entitled OP, you would have the decency to at least fill in some details, in addition to the link.
For others, here is the first paragraph:

(13,986 posts)Was unaware of the economic impact to DU. I shall post excerpts in the future.

(40,416 posts)I have 3 GB per month. Plus, many DUers are dial-up.
It's very easy to copy/paste a few (up to four) paragraphs. A good OP will select four good ones, but in this case the first serves its purpose, to reveal the offenders' names.
As long as I stay on DU, page reloads and postings cost me very little. But click-throughs tend to dump my browser cache and load silly graphic ads on the cited commercial sites. (Just so others understand why.)
Thank you very much.

(15,682 posts)When I find only a link posted in an OP, more often than not I will click back out.

(40,416 posts)But some people who use the Intertubes don't know how those tubes work. A gentle reminder is usually sufficient. And, at the beginning of the month, I tend to be more tolerant and will do the click-through, copy and paste for others. At the end of the month when I am always against the wall, never.

(22,651 posts)I use DSL verizon, it's unlimited. However I can recomend peoplepc as a unlimited dial-up very inexpensive. I have my peoplepc dial-up account as a back up incase the dsl goes out. all you need to do is find out if they have local phone access numbers in your area. I think limited internet is a scam for more charges. http://peoplepc.highspeed.com/

(40,416 posts)Other than dialup, which is a worthless 20Kbits/sec here. Plus, one has to have a land line, which is still expensive here in the national forest.
Before I got the iPhone, cell coverage here was hit or miss -- mostly miss -- and only in the last couple months was good enough to view a page with pics on it.
Please do not presume that everybody here has the same options others do. I could pay more for satellite Inet and get lower bandwidth with the same monthly bandwidth limit.
This is the best I can do.

edited to add, I lived with 20kbs dial-up before the days of DSL and cable for about 10 years. It's ok if the computer is fast. Have to wait a bit for stuff to load.

(40,416 posts)Of course, I would have to shovel the shit first and the microphone hole in my iPhone 4S is a bit small so I'd have to melt it first to get it to you... You do have a freezer, don't you?
Lots of animals here. Especially love the coyotes yipping at night, the vultures, eagles/hawks, bobcat, wild turkey, etc. I have never seen a bear or a cougar, but they're here, too. See lots of deer, though. They suck. They're all over the roads. Only good for eating, IMHO. Oh! Migratories are cool. Herons, egrets, and occasional cranes. 100' from a little trout stream.
Semi-dark skies when it's clear and the moon sets. Rare here. I still have a great 10" custom Dobsonian reflector.
There are plenty of down sides though. My property needs some help and I am on low income.
Sigh! You do what you can as you can. That's why I spend so much time on DU.

(83,791 posts)I would love to put those eight on my ignore list.
However they keep popping up in our faces on a daily basis, with their ignorant, vile statements.
As for the jackass Rubio...I do believe he wants a run for President. I do believe that Hillary, or whichever Woman runs will sure rip him a new one! I can not wait for those debates!
Thanks again!
