The White House updated the press schedule for President Obama Tuesday, adding a statement at 1:15 p.m. ET from the President in the briefing room. Reports indicate that Obama will call on Congress to delay the automatic spending cuts scheduled to take effect in March.

Let's just admit it that it was kind of a dumb idea in the first place, get rid of it entirely, and go back to the drawing board. It came about as a result of a phony "crisis" over raising the debt ceiling that Republicans manufactured in 2011 and were going to change anyway had they won the Senate and WH last year. If we can get the country moving again economically (that is, if the Republicans allow us to move forward), the deficit can and will be pared down. More people working=less unemployment, less public assistance, etc.

He was right when he said Congress was like a bunch of kids who don't do their homework.

3. The sequester did not come from Congress.

It was proposed by the White House. It received bi-partisan support and was signed by President Obama.
