Related: About this forumTom Coburn(R-OK) vote to confirm Kerry to State.
Can anyone tell me why Coburn voted Yes when his homestate collegue Inhofe voted no?
Is it based on his personal friendship with Obama or he actually believes Brown will be coming back to the US Senate within a next 6 months.

(613 posts)Inhofe is some crazy old nut. Cruz is a douche, Not sure for what Cornyn's rationale to vote No.
Coburn voted Yes when he easily could have voted No like his home state colleague.

(46,416 posts)He's been in the Senate forever. He's head of the SFRC. He is not tied to scandal or immoral behavior. The fact that any R's at all voted against him was just to be a token burr in Obama's saddle.

(59,504 posts)Coburn's main issue is waste in government. Kerry often praised that work and he often mentioned the ideas Coburn had (stating them as Coburn's). The root of Obama's personal friendship is rooted in that too.
Inhofe's main crusade is that global warming is a hoax - and Kerry has called him the chair of the flat earth caucus many many times. Inhofe said it was Kerry's passionate believe that we need to do something on climate change that was a problem.
