Harry Reid's ties to NRA

Melissa HP reported that Harry Reid's ties to the NRA may keep the Senate from passing assault weapons ban or any gun control legislation.

Code pink provided information on Reid's ties:

"In 2010, when Reid was engaged in a bitter re-election campaign against Republican Sharron Angle, the NRA refrained from endorsing, but contributed to Reid’s campaign and reminded voters of his pro-gun record. An NRA letter to its Nevada members touted that Reid “opposed the Obama administration’s interest in reinstating the assault weapons ban, halting momentum; helped pass a law that allows gun owners to carry firearms in national parks; voted against the District of Columbia’s gun ban; voted for legislation to allow pilots in commercial airline cockpits to be armed.” It also noted that Reid was instrumental in passing legislation halting lawsuits that were attempting to hold gun manufacturers and dealers responsible for weapons used in criminal acts."

I think Harry needs a phone call:

He stated recently that we would likely not get gun control legislation. Is he beholding to the NRA and therefore providing cover for them? Pro gun is one thing. Working for the NRA is another.

NRA letter to its Nevada members touted that Reid 1“opposed the Obama administration’s interest in reinstating the assault weapons ban
2 helped pass a law that allows gun owners to carry firearms in national parks;
3 voted against the District of Columbia’s gun ban;
4 voted for legislation to allow pilots in commercial airline cockpits to be armed.”
5 Reid was instrumental in passing legislation halting lawsuits that were attempting to hold gun manufacturers and dealers responsible for weapons used in criminal acts."

Tack on has gone shooting with wayno la-conman & his nra buddies, shaking hands with wayno & all in all gun-chumming it up, one nice day at the shooting range. Is why I sorta had a shoulder shrug on who won in nevada, consolation prize was if he lost at least a different dem senate leader would come about.

Other democrat gunnuts:
1. Dingell, rep michigan, nra gave money to him I'm pretty certain.
2. US Senator Manchin WVA, but I guess we should be happy for a dem in west virginia, pro pro pro gun, hard not to a gunnut & get elected there; & he's redeemed himself a tad by coming out for an assault rifle ban, let's hope it translates into a vote therefore.
3. Bob Casey, US sen pennsy (my senator, pro lifer too). Pennsy a pro gun state ala wva, pennsy has more nra members than 48 or 49 other states.
4. Arlen Specter (r.i.p. now) does he count? I mean when he was alive? Nah, on 2nd thot.

Lotsa others too fer sure, just the notables I know of. Not talking about pretenders either, seeking reflected glory from guns, weak.
