On the Stephanopoulos show this morning.
What about the military budget, she asked, that the Republicans do not want to touch?
Instead of going after Social Security and Medicare, what about all the tax credit to the oil companies and other corporations?
On edit:
Found the video
Katrina talks at the 5:57 min, emphasizing how the recent elections sent the message that Social Security and Medicare should be spared while the rich should be paying their fair share.
But her going after Norquist, actually "offering" him a deal, come at the 10:30 min.

(111,352 posts)because they all do the actual work that keeps the world running instead being like him and keeping his manicure tidy while he bullies Congressmen in the name of the Koch Boys.
I will believe in justice only when Gover is hauled up on treason charges for his stated aim of destroying the US government, among others.
Note I don't wish death on the man, only humiliation, jail and poverty.

(1,361 posts)In this case, it is a No Tax pledge. It is simple. Even the dumbest teabagger can not only understand it, but want it. After all, who wants to pay taxes.
Then other people with money who don't want to pay taxes, pay him to promulgate the simple idea. They pay him. They pay for advertisements.
That he is nothing but bullshit (google Casino Jack and refresh your memory about Grover, Randall Terry and such slime).
That's all he is about: greed.
But he has power because of ignorance and the money that perpetuates the big lie that gub'mint is evil

(111,352 posts)the Koch boys are associated with. That's how.
If anything, he should be teaching us why it's a really bad idea to allow any sort of plutocracy into a democratic country.

(24,773 posts)for treason charges to stick. It shouldn't be much of a problem; all we need are two repunks who told Grover where to stick it with his pledge.

question everything
(47,535 posts)is that they talk over each other. I think that Stephanopoulos himself was trying to say something and Katrina would not let him.
I was hoping there was tape of this but found only general discussion.
And Merry Christmas to you.

(2,730 posts)yet, but the media and these people calling themselves in the middle keep pushing that mocking bird. They associate what they call the extreme Left with the extreme right to paint themselves as some kinda adult middle.
I have another definition for these people. Those on the extreme Lefty are really not as extreme as those moderates contend. People pushing these labels are more in line with corporations and Wall Street. These people are liberal on Social issues but conservative on Fiscal issues. Apparently they believe programs to combat poverty are wasteful spending. They don't mind giving to charitable causes but it comes with a price. You are either indebted to them or it reduces their taxes. Sort of like before you receive any help, you have to listen to the sermon. It is called indebted servitude.
People who exclude Social Security,Medicare and Medicaid are actually the most sane group of both extremes. Those in the middle are wolves in sheep's clothing because they mostly come from the wealthy class and wall street. Their God is money which translates into power and wealth. It accumlates the ownership of more property. They hate anything that resembles socialism or communism. This class was associated with the bourgeois classes of Europe. Ironically though, it was the same Policies they want to strip, which allowed them to move into the upper class. Defense in their eyes does not just constitute a means for National Security, but a means to accumulate more wealth, and gain access to other resources around the World. It is not by accident, our economy is interconnected with the World economy. China's biggest debt is also owed to the U.S.
The United States has over 400 Billionaires in the country which outpaces the next country in the hundreds. The United States also has over 4 million millionaires, which out paces the next country in the millions. There is no other country in the World even close to the U.S. in accumulated wealth among its citizens. Some of these citizens even have tens of Billions of dollars in assets. These people alone could erase the Debt. Social Security as a matter of fact, is part of that Debt, which they raided from the Trust Fund, and owed to us. Now they want to renege on it by changing the terms.

(213 posts)I played the, so-called, "Violent" video games most of my life and also watched the so-called, "Violent" movies most of my life as well and I have not killed anybody. If it wasn't the video game(s) it was the movie(s), if it wasn't the movie(s) it was their upbringing, if it wasn't their upbringing it was their friends, if it wasn't their friends it was something else. What it really is, is that they are mentally ill and/or crazy. I'm all for gun control, I'm for limiting the sizes of magazines and clips, I'm for eliminating the gun show loophole which would eliminate the exemption of private sellers needing to run background checks on their buyers, I'm for making sure that all fire arms are registered, I'm for requiring that all gun owners have special gun safes/lockers that use some sort of biometric device for access, I'm for trigger locks on all guns, I'm for the implementation of a federal law which supersedes all state laws allowing people to walk around with guns wherever they please since walking around with a gun does nothing but intimidate others and can has the potential of escalating situations which would otherwise be non life threatening brawls to deadly ones -- I would of course exempt active police from this -- , I'm for "smart gun" technology such as fingerprint recognition on the handles of guns, I'm fine with a police officer at every school and for a tax on all guns either with a registration or annual fee to pay for it, and I'm for increased access to mental health that is sensible and that actually works rather than what we currently have.
I think the most difficult thing we have to deal with is how to address those who are mentally ill and/or crazy. Some of them will be beyond help, and others could be helped but how? There's no easy solution. What are we going to really do? We aren't going to completely eliminate mass shootings and killings, but that isn't an excuse for inaction. We have to do all of the aforementioned things and we need to get serious on how we deal with those who are mentally ill and/or crazy.

(14,573 posts)because she has balls - something most of the democrats/liberals don't have.
I like Cory Booker, but you could visibly see him having to restrain himself from throttling Norquist the conversation turned to firearms, which was entertaining, but when he spoke he kissed Norquists ass.
Republicans don't even try to hide their disgust of democrats/liberals, and spew the most hateful things. But, democrats and the "liberal media" have to treat them like china dolls.
