Last night confirmed ...

the nuuty wing of the gop is dead!

From time to time, I've written about my (non) fox-watching (he swears he doesn't watch fox, as he quotes their talking points word for word), rightwing conservative, small business owning, anti-everything President Obama, friend.

Well, we attended a Xmas party last night and he is an utterly broken man. Ever since the election, he claims to have stopped watching fox and stopped listening to rightwing radio. More importantly, he seems to have come to recognize the bankruptcy of the arguments of the right.

Last night was a good night.

That the more clever,of the slobbering knuckle dragger's,seem to finally be catching on that science, fact, logic and reason matter, and that the wrongwing has displayed ever less of any of those traits for 3 decades+.........Maybe we'll find out whether "trickle down" works with sanity......

My mother in law seems, lately,to be coming around, one issue at a time,in a 2 steps forward,1 step back sort of way...The latest thing is a convoluted outrage that Obamas after everyones guns...Any gun...All guns...This from a 72 year old woman who does not own any firearm and never has,and has no intention,or real desire,of acquiring any....

This sentiment has manifested more since we were not hit by a rogue planet the other day, than by the actual shootings that promoted the gun talk to begin with...

No,she doesn't have a PC...Never has......She listens to her batshit crazy, rabid teabag sister and has faux on non-stop...

Two different times over this past summer,I printed and showed her stories of studies released, showing that faux viewers are less informed than folks who watch no news at all...Both times,it sunk in for just a few days, before she went right back to it...

Her sister attends one of those churches,in which the congregants are told not only what to think, but WHEN...

The times I visit and end up observing it truly confirm to me that CNN is Fox light-ish.

It also confims that stubborn know-it-all types who get their information solely from TV news are the most ignorant and insufferable sorts to be around period; let alone have a serious discussion with.

It is very difficult when the everyday media is carrying water for the oligarchs and their republican minions.

They had subsisted on the fact that Obama stole the election and that all it would take, was a pretty, white, good ol' boy to show up and wave. But the fighting reserves are waning as the nation overwhelming elected him again. Even Orly Tait packed up her buckets of slander and libel and went home.

Sounded the most rational I'd heard in years after the absolute hysteria I'd endured just before the election. It had been building up since 2008 and got worse from 2010 on. This is the post of what happened in November:

So now I call her, not expecting much at all. Her mood was completely changed, she was relaxed and happy talking about how they are going to go on Medicare and all of that.

I deliberately hadn't called her for over a month. She didn't feel any need to talk about Obama at all this time. What happened, I didn't dare ask.
