Who Else has stopped watching broadcast news since the election?

I am wondering if I am not alone.

I refuse to give my energy to a de facto arm of the KGB. It wasn't *vague* that these were hacks by them...

There are things we need to do..boycotts, etc..and we need to tie Twitler and Mitch McConnell together like peas in a fucking pod. Because they are.

My favorite sources are print based, and been around for a while. NY Times, New Yorker, WaPo, Atlantic... Newsday for local stuff.

Alan Colmes and Wayne Besen out of Chicago. I used to livestream these shows from WCPT in Chicago. I was going to stop listening to The Stephanie Miller Show anyway, tho - she's just not FUNNY anymore!

she started getting more serious minded after she came out. Like it really dawned on her that she could make a difference so she started being a bit more news commentator than stand up comedian. Like she lost her footing when she stood her ground. It's kind of awkward now.

Broadcast is over the air received with an antenna. That's what we have. I watch a local NBC affiliate for local in the AM and switch to CBS for the national news. At night we watch ABC news and PBS News Hour. We don't have cable or satellite so CNN, FAUX, M$NBC etal are not available or wanted. What people call news is not generally news but commentary/opinion. You get that with broadcast news but that's pretty much all you get with the 24 hour cable news companies. They have a lot of time to fill. I won't watch them.

When I am in a waiting room with the ubiquitous cable snooze shows on, I am able to tune it out by reading my book.

why I didn't do it sooner.

Outside of the local weather I am not even interested in the local news. I stick to DU an appreciate it when someone posts a link to a good/relevant story. I have really tried to not spend a lot of energy on what is going on, it is too much like watching a train wreck.

I think that how the Democrats handle the situation in Congress will say a lot about how much they are willing to draw a line in the sand and fight back. This will be a make or break time on whether the Democrats can pull it together to fight for change and to make advances in Congress (and hopefully take back the WH).

Reported with glee and abandon about how Obamacare premiums were increasing next year but failed to mention the many premiums which were either staying the same or decreasing that I couldn't take it any more. These days, I read the LA or NY Times, read Newsweek and visit some political websites and my nerves are the better for it. I can read what BS Smellyanne is spewing rather than watch it and stay calmer.

The way it was unfolding put me in a more cynical mood than usual. Then Tweety was trying to play Mr Brain or something and said, "Maybe the voters decided they wanted a more conservative Supreme Court". That was the final straw. So I am with you all!
There is nothing possible to hear about that is good anymore. The next thing I will tune if for will be Trump's funeral if it is soon.

In fact, I cut my cable after that election, and when they asked why, I told them. In fact, I've been boycotting the corporate media ever since. I'll read and watch things that I can freely access online, but I won't pay for them.

Otherwise, I get my news from left-leaning and/or center-left sites.
