Basically, we lost Springfield.
Well, Springfield, Mo., obviously, but that's not the one I mean. 
FXX has been showing The Simpsons nonstop since Thanksgiving (!). This morning Moe pulled a gun out from under the bar for some reason, This got me to ruminating on what the gun situation is in Springfield.
That's when it hit me. Our candidates, being from Shelbyville and Capital City, didn't pay much attention to Springfield. Meanwhile, the vulgar talking yam was capturing whatever imaginations Homer, Barney, Carl, Lenny, Principal Skinner, Kent Brockman, Troy McClure (who you may remember from such motion pictures as... ) et al. may have.
I imagine we're on safe ground with Patty, what with her being gay and all, and probably Marge, who has stood up to similar folderol in the past, but I'm starting to wonder about Selma. That would suck. 
So how do we take Springfield back? It will be several cycles until Lisa turns 35. What other candidate from Springfield could win the Dem primaries in Shelbyville and Capital City?

Trump may have to channel his inner Hadrian and build a wall around Scotland! 
If so, I can picture him buying that little farm right next to Trump's resort in Aberdeenshire(the farm Trump was obsessed with fforcibly buying out because it "marred the view"
just to pile up more rubbish on it(preferably while wandering around the yard naked).
Where Mr. Garrison has been serving as Trump's surrogate to hilarious effect.
