Some good news.

In 1989 we bought a new house in a nice neighborhood. It was still under construction then, but our subdivision eventually had 188 single family homes.

In 2000, during the election campaign I found out that our household was one of 4 democratic party registered families of 188. By 2008 this number had grown to 8.

Last night the free, local right wing fish wrapper was left by our front door. It gave the results of the election by local precinct. Our precinct includes two other subdivisions (which I think have pretty much the same demographics) but these were the results in the Presidential election:

Clinton/Kaine 188
Trump/Pence 139

The other 22 precincts in our previously republican enclave showed similar and in some cases better outcomes.

A remarkable change of editorial attitude seems to have come over the little news paper too.

Tiny hopes.

Did better for Hillary than Obama. Overall, Hillary performed better in TX than did Obama. But I don't think it is much of a prediction. Trump's wall isn't very popular in Texas. We've got a river complete with water rights, reservoirs, and an 8,000 ft. mountain right on the border.
