2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSHOUT-OUT FOR PRES. JIMMY CARTER!
For backing marijuana legalization!
I believe his support may prove instrumental in helping get the feds to back off states that have enacted legalization legislation!
And PS Any DUer who wants to come visit me in the lovely EverGREEN state of Washington, where I am so fortunate to reside - you are so very, very welcome!

(24,736 posts)I live in a red (east of the Cascades) county in WA. My boss and her partner - fairly high visibility in our little town - are getting married on 12/29!! This is their 3rd wedding, because every time they move to a new state they have to re-marry to meet state law!
The 1st "'same sex" couple to get a marriage license here were featured on the cover of our local newspaper. They got married at the town ski hill over the weekend! I got to wish them greetings. Didn't get to stay for the wedding, though .... old legs were giving out after several hours of skiing ..
Great to meet you! Looking forward to full implementation of the mj legalization laws next year ... when it can be purchased in stores, taxed, etc. Let's show the other states how to fill their coffers with mj taxation!

I never did square Carter's "Jesus freakiness" with what passes for Christianity nowadays ...
but I think it's become more than apparent since his term.
