The white, middle class worker the Democrats need to chase.

Cars!

Steel!

More cars!

Ships!

Planes!

Even more cars!

One tiny problem.

This is Alabama.

Mercedes-Benz, ThyssenKrupp, Hyundai, Austal, Airbus and Honda.

We do make it here! In solid, 100% Trump country.

Back in the Spring, around the West Virginia Democratic primary, DU went ballistic when the Clinton campaign wondered aloud about pursuing those "white rural voters."

I wonder if the Democratic base tied their hands - and left it to Sanders to more or less bring his flock home. Everyone agrees most of the Sander's faithful voted for Hillary. Most of them...

I don't think we should sacrifice OUR values to pander to racists or bigots of any kind.

The hard hats started deserting the Democratic Party back in the late 1960s because Nixon pandered to their resentment of minorities and women. It is all about the entitled white dudes with you. You don't get it. You have been watching too many Michael Moore movies.

These guys or their fathers or grandfathers should have been paying attention 30 or 35 YEARS ago. Instead, they were the idiot Reagan supporters who voted for people who practically destroyed the social contract. I was around then, and I was bitching to everybody who would listen about it. It is way, way, way too late in the party to reverse course, especially if these dudes keep shooting themselves in the ass by voting GOP.

These guys are fundamentally stupid and entitled. You cannot fix them because they were raised by racist and sexist parents. They have to learn things the hard way that it isn't the "illegals," it isn't the "minorities" and it isn't women's fault their living standards have been shot to shit.

They need to look hard in the mirror to see who is at fault. I personally don't give a shit about them anymore.

for a Constitutional amendment to make Alabama an official anti-union 'right-to-work' state.

Why? It was already a law.

To make sure a future "liberal" legislature couldn't come in and give unions any kind of support without another Constitutional amendment put before the people of Alabama!

I don't think Alabamians worry too much about them good payin' jobs.

"It's those damn immigrants we got to worry about." (if there are any left in Alabama)
