RNC looking into what went wrong in 2012

BY BY PHILIP ELLIOTT

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican National Committee on Monday announced an inquiry to look at what went wrong in 2012?s presidential election and how the GOP can respond to the nation’s shifting demographics and adopt smarter political strategies.

RNC chairman Reince Priebus asked a group of five respected party leaders to examine how the GOP can better talk with voters, raise money from donors and learn from Democrats’ tactics. Preibus also asked the group, known as the Growth and Opportunity Project, to look at how campaigns are best organized and deployed, how they can work with independent groups such as super political action committees, and how the party should approach the 2016 presidential primaries as part of a top-to-bottom review.

“The Growth and Opportunity Project will recommend a plan to further ensure Republicans are victorious in 2013, 2014, 2016 and beyond,” Priebus said in a statement. “The work of the Growth and Opportunity Project will be critical as we move forward as a party and take our message to every American.”

Romney’s loss on Nov. 6 to President Barack Obama has left the GOP without a clear leader but with many questions about its future. Exit polls indicated Obama carried female, black, Hispanic and Asian voting blocs. He also won among voters under the age of 45 and those who lived in mid- to large-sized cities.

That adds up to a quandary for a party looking ahead at gubernatorial races next year in Virginia and New Jersey, as well as 2014?s midterm elections.

It shouldn't be any great mystery. Their policies suck and have nothing to offer the vast majority of people in this country. They should have plenty of money to buy themselves a clue!

Reince Priebus was the problem. He is the worst RNC chairman I have seen since I became a politics watcher. He was obnoxious and nearly as much a liar as Romney was during the election campaign.

It was perfect for us. Actually, they are under the illusion that 2010 was normal. Even the pundits always talk about 2010. It was an aberration. Over 20% of the voters in that election was 65 and older. The normal number is 9%.

unlike McCain and Romney the last two presidential elections.

I'm thinking Sarah Palin/Todd Akin ticket could really rally the base and turn out the Fundamentalist base.

I really like the tickeet you have, or better yet, to rally the mysogynist vote, maybe Akin/Mourdock. Palin for SoS, Santorum for the newly created cabinet position Minister of National Religion.

Maybe voters looked at their Republican governors who were elected in 2010 and didn't want more of the same in the White House.

Who would vote for a president that would send Big Bird to the unemployment line?

Just tossing ideas out there, just understand. I could be way off base.

wrong but they are too arrogant and stubborn to realize it.

1. They had a extremely bad ticket. One guy could not even act like he gave a damn about the middle class and the other is a extremist who sponsored a bill that pretty much would be a death sentence for a lot of people. They actually ran a outsourcer while we have a large unemployment rate largely due to outsourcing. That was damned stupid.

2.Extreme far right platform. They can't grasp that a woman's reproductive choices are none of their damned business.

3. Efforts to supress the vote failed and actually boosted the vote.

4. They are also rejected a path to citizenship for millions of people. Self deport?
