2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThere are a lot of votes yet to be cast. Around 40+ million are in the ballot boxes, but
in 2012 around 118 million were cast. We've just scratched the surface.
It really looks like it could be either candidate's game. Hillary has the lead, but there are so many yet to go. Hopefully her lead will extrapolate out into a slam dunk. I'm anxious about it tho.
My first google came up with around 3 million. Sure glad I was wrong!

(7,584 posts)Tuesday is over. The stress from this election cycle has been WAY beyond the norm. I have worked early voting days and I will work election day. I am more optimistic than you seem to be....I believe Hillary will win and win big. Election days mean a great deal of work for those of us working the polls and I believe the election will be called before I even get home. I am hoping not as I would like to be plastered to the TV when the election is called..but I plan on watching TV as soon as I get home...and can toast Hillary's win with a glass of wine.

(18,705 posts)I am giving rides the polls all day.
The precincts are close together.
More votes for Hillary.
I worked a lot of elections and wanted to work this one.
At least I can give rides.
I feel good about this one.
Thanks for working this election.
It is a hard long day.

(3,077 posts)There was a lot more excitement in 2012. But we have to do what we have to do. This has been such an ugly election.

(25,902 posts)every cycle more and more people early vote.
I haven't voted on actual election day since I'm not sure when. 2004, possibly 2000.
Unless I foolishly move to a state with no early voting, I'll never vote on the regular Election Day again.

(25,902 posts)wait in. So I went back a few days later, and it took about 20 minutes from when I exited my car to when I was back in it. Which is how all voting should be, no matter when a person chooses to vote. Or if they can only vote on Election Day itself.
