The hosts of a Fox News morning show that created and aired a four-minute, attack ad-style video filled with falsehoods about President Barack Obama during his re-election campaign are wondering why they did not get invited to the White House with other media personalities on Tuesday.
Several reports confirmed on Tuesday that MSNBC hosts Ed Schultz, Lawrence ODonnell, Rachel Maddow and Al Sharpton had joined other progressive media personalities at the White House to meet with the president.
Im shocked by that! Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade exclaimed the next morning. Invite five talk show hosts in? All from the same channel? Thats outrageous!
It might be outrageous, but what Im saying is Im not surprised by it, co-host Gretchen Carlson remarked. I mean, that station is delivering the message of this administration. So, it makes sense.

(15,189 posts)Shit Hannity over at the WH day in and day out. Funny, I don't recall Keith Olbermann ever getting an invite from Dimson, or a one on one like Obama gave Faux. But they're "shocked" I tell ya. Obama needs to exclude Faux from EVERYTHING at the WH.

(448 posts)The word is that they do not have an assigned WH correspondent like any other NEWS organization. They refuse to comply so they get no "love" from the WH.
Sounds like the same problem a former candidate had.

(7,784 posts)White House soiree: Boortz, Hannity, Gallagher, Medved and Ingraham were reportedly invited to meet with Bush in the Oval Office
In a September 16 posting on his weblog, nationally syndicated radio host Neal Boortz wrote that he had been invited to "the West Wing of the White House" for a "30-minute meeting with the President in the Oval Office [which] turned into 90 minutes." Boortz added that the "other invitees were [conservative radio hosts] Sean Hannity, Mike Gallagher, Michael Medved and Laura Ingraham." As the weblog Think Progress noted, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in a September 17 posting on its website that conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh has been invited to the meeting but could not attend.

It's actually kind of hard to see why they even care. I would think that NOT being invited would be worn like a "badge of honor" with these people.

(19,193 posts)WHile I don't think it's good form for Obama to have the MSNBC folk to the White House like this, it's no big deal really, and Bush did it over and over with FOX and Limbaugh and company.
The greatest thing Obama and the Democratic Party could do to help the country would be a complaete freeze out of FOX News. I'm talking zero access to the President or anyone involved in the Administration at any level. Zero interviews from any Dem candidate at any level. FOX is not a legitimate news organization, they shouldn't ge teated like one. If literally none of the news out of Washington could be adequately covered by FOX because of the freeze out, then maybe, just maybe, a percentage of Americans would start following more legitimate news sources and actual enter back into American Political Discourse based upon reality.

(115,899 posts)Suppose you have next-door neighbors you don't like - and because you don't like them you blow your leaves into their yard, throw your dog's poop over the fence into their garden, park in front of their driveway, yell at their kids, knock over their mailbox, and steal their newspaper off their steps. Then, when they throw a big Christmas party and invite all the other neighbors but not you, you get all huffy and outraged and can't understand why you were left out.
Is that simple enough for you to understand?
