If Congress fails to act before the end of the year, every American family's taxes will automatically go up and people from all over America are writing in to say what $2000 means to middle class families.


A whole year's worth of diapers for my daughter and my gas to commute to work. That is what $2,000 means to me & my family.

1. U mean, "What does taking $2K out of your SS retirement payments mean to you?", no?

I think it damages the long term solvency of Social Security and is a terrible idea.

We need to raise the cap and increase benefits and pay into our guaranteed retirement plan, IMHO.

5. The tax code is so intentionally unfair to same sex couples that I laugh when asked

with great mock concern what a couple of thousand would mean to us. As if they cared....
