You could say--okay this is stretching it--that Hillary Clinton is following the archetypical route of the "hero's journey," suffering the slings and arrows, the myriad of hurdles and obstacles, battling the Shadow figure before the ultimate quest is won--gaining the elixir--thereby transforming the world while being transformed herself.

It's a classic storyline, repeated again and again. A song to ourselves, you might say. But with a weird similarity to what we're witnessing in this crazy election season.
