There existing warrants covered the evidence, even though it was found on wieners device (ewwww).

Look, even if they did, they could get one in an hour. There are judges on call to handle these requests.

They are SLOW walking the data analysis. This gives them cover to not give a follow up before the election.

Consider this. When they seize a device, the first thing they do is make a raw, low level copy of every block. They do that so they don't alter the evidence - protects the chain of custody.

Next, they load the image they just created into a forensics analysis package, which scans it for all kinds of items, like email archives, pictures, videos, etc, etc.

Email archives are loaded into a database on a very fast, very powerful server. SQL queries take seconds (usually a lot less) at most.

So within minutes, they know exactly how many emails came from state.gov. how many from the clinton server. They will know how many are duplicates of emails they already have archived. They will know if there are any headers or markers.

In short, they will have the answers by now.

Expect them to share it if there is anything, anything at all, that will or can be made to look bad. Expect them to just say we are reviewing it if they can't find anything.

They are done.

This isn't a complicated process for the fbi. It takes a few words on a standard form. Judges are standing by.

So they are making it "look" like they needed one. To slow down the process and give them cover and stay silent.

That way, if they have something, it's a press conference, and if not, silence.

It's all a part of the media staging. No other explanation.

They just got a warrant and they came out with details about the emails they couldn't have already read legally?
