Bill O’Reilly Mocks His Own Guest for Suggesting Paul Ryan for Person of the Year

When GOP strategist Kristen Soltis suggested that Paul Ryan be named person of the year, Bill O’Reilly responded by mocking her and saying Ryan couldn’t even carry his own state.

Soltis argued for Ryan by saying that he wasn’t that big of a deal in the presidential race, but, “He is the one guy here in the US who’s really trying to put together ideas for how we solve these long term fiscal problems that countries around the world are facing. How are we going to deal with these long term entitlements?”

This was too much BS for even Bill O’Reilly to handle. In a moment of angry white man blames the failed VP candidate lucidity, Bill-O said, “Ryan hasn’t accomplished it yet. If Ryan were to accomplish the things that he wants to accomplish. Bring the federal budget under control and get the two parties together to get a responsible budget then he would without a doubt be person of the year, but he hasn’t. He couldn’t. He couldn’t even carry his state. Kristen, he couldn’t even carry his state.”

Soltis said Ryan shouldn’t be blamed for not carrying Wisconsin, and O’Reilly said that’s why he was on the ticket. They needed a state like Wisconsin.

I rarely find myself agreeing with O'Reilly, but I certainly agree with him on this issue. And I might add, I am very glad to see O'reilly and Fox news throwing him under the bus.
Ryan is dangerous but not because he is smart or clever or a policy wonk, who "is the only one seriously working to solve the problems of America", he is dangerous because he is a creation of ALEC and the Koch brothers. He takes marching orders from them and they, in turn, provide him with a horrendous budget to pass off as his own. This provides cover for a lazy, immoral, gym rat who has to lie about his running speed and climbing feats in order to feel good about himself. Ryan is hollow, a man who has been given everything and yet wants to take from people who have little or nothing.
Hearing O'Reilly's reaction to Soltis' nomination of Ryan highlights how little right wingers care for and respect each other. Which is, not at, all unless they play their roles well and win the prize they were assigned to deliver. Ryan couldn't even deliver his own state, or district. Ryan is pathetic, the side-kick of a delusional, god-king wannabe, who will be remembered (if at all) as the man who washes clean dishes for the camera. A phony through and through.

7. Perhaps taking equally from each person is a methodology for establishing fairness

but usually republicans don't promote equality of outcome as desirable.
But you are correct in suggesting that Ryan's attitude toward governance would result in equality of misery and poverty for most Americans. From a villainous perspective, there is something fair about that.

8. Ryan wasn't there to carry WI

He was there because Romney couldn't trust the GOP base, just like McCain couldn't trust the base in 2008. Romney needed cover so he could reposition himself as a moderate in the last weeks of the campaign.

So it wasn't going to be a given for Ryan to lead the GOP to victory in WI. I believe he carried his CD for Romney, losing his hometwon is immaterial.

I agree with A-S. Ryan was chosen to excite the Tea Party faction, who were wishy-washy about Romney.
