Rigged voting machines - counter point

Hi,

This may be important as counterpoint when it comes up in discussions (online or otherwise).

If voting machines can be rigged then it doesn't make sense to do it visibly. Put yourself in the place of a hacker. If you could change the software of a machine, why would you show the voter that something has gone wrong?

I am familiar with IT, touchscreen can be calibrated incorrectly, especially when there are a lot of machines to calibrate, leading to unpredictable results. There are observers in place to help with these issues, and voters should check their vote off course.

Confidence in the election process is important, don't feed the election rigging trolls.

You don't have to contend with long lines, you have time to focus on the issues when voting in the privacy of your home, and all the other issues such as voter intimidation, "so-called rigging", etc, are gone

I don't like electronic voting myself, because it can take a good many voters before a faulty machine is correct. However, some people are trying to push the rigged election narrative.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. Our local news in the Tampa area had a story on this last night. Republicans are being extremely aggressive about signatures. It is beyond foolish. You are not there to oversee the verification of your signature when you mail in vote in Florida. I actually think we have made huge strides in Florida when it comes to voting. I'm really big on the current process. That said, some problems like the signature issue are harmful.

Historically, vote tampering has been far more common with paper ballots than with any machines.
