2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI'm still not sold on Megyn Kelly as a serious journalist.
Silly as it seems, I have a hard time getting over the whole "Santa Claus can't be black" thing, among other things.
And she sure as hell isn't on a serious news network.
But that being said, kudos are deserving where kudos are deserving. And damn it, kudos are most definitely deserving in her takedown of Newt Gingrich, who's just a sad, sad, pathetic not-so-little yet still little man:
You just have to wonder, pre-Trump presidential run whether Trump attempted making a pass at Megyn and she shut him down. That has to explain both of their subsequent actions towards each other. She seems to know he's a sick puppy, and I think it's firsthand.

(6,587 posts)time & place, she was catering to her bosses at faux news.
That said; I have a hard time finding a lot of people who call themselves journalists serious anymore.
Look at how MSNBC has changed. Joy Reid, maybe Lawrence O'Donnell, we can still count on to be really good & call things as they really are & report on issues as they are with facts not their own spin.
A lot of the others & I am not even going to bother to talk about the deplorable MJ show are & seem to just be trying to make a name for themselves. But there is Kasie Hunt who is not good at all & the others on the campaign trail. Andre Mitchell is really bad & by the way, have not even seen her for some time.
Jake Tapper on CNN is good & I pretty much watch evening news & just go to other what I feel are credible news sites to get what I am looking for.
The Media, News or whatever is pretty bad overall anymore.
I could be wrong but I believe that is as a result of it being Corporate Media, owned by large corporations like Time Warner, Comcast, Disney, etc.

(1,004 posts)I will say this though: I will never, EVER forget the 2012 election night when she walked all the way to the back of the studio just to confirm with smart people that Karl Rove was wrong as hell ON AIR. For that alone, she deserves a well-earned thumbs up.

(11,643 posts)She can be pretty good when she isn't doing batshit crazy fox news talking points. I'm hoping she leaves that shit behind and becomes more impartial. She can be a hardass interviewer just needs to channel her powers for good instead of evil.

(47,583 posts)If she ever gets to work on a real news network, we might see a different person. I am often amused watching her interview right-wingers. The look on her face looks like she can't believe what she is hearing. She almost looks like she is in pain.
